Your Dubai weekend, sorted.

 WEEKEND EDITION

 THE LEAD

NESTT opens in Al Quoz on Sunday, and Dh110 buys three hours of weekend play

NESTT opens this Sunday, 4 October, at Q East in Al Quoz, which makes Sunday the day to try a family venue nobody has reviewed yet. The two-floor space puts a Euro-Mediterranean restaurant, a play area for children up to eight, coworking areas and activity rooms in the same building. Play costs Dh110, which buys four hours on a weekday and three hours at the weekend, so an opening-day visit on Sunday gets you the shorter session.

The play areas are split by age, with toys made in-house, and What's On reports that the kitchen cooks much of its food from scratch with minimal added sugar. Parents can have lunch or sit at a coworking desk while the children play, so a working parent can answer email on a Sunday out with the kids.

Sunday is opening day, so there are no reviews yet and nothing published on how busy it will get. Check NESTT's Instagram before you drive over for hours and whether play sessions need booking. If three hours feels short for the money, the same Dh110 buys a fourth hour from Monday.

WHAT TO DO
Before you set off for Q East on Sunday, check NESTT's Instagram (@nestt.ae) for opening hours and whether you need to book a play session.

 QUICK 3

1  Paddington in Peru, free on the lawn at JLT Park on Saturday

Cinema Under the Stars returns to JLT Park, Cluster Q, this Saturday, 3 October, at 7.30pm, opening with Paddington in Peru. Lawn seating is free and a beanbag with popcorn costs Dh30. You don't need to register for the lawn, though JLT says signing up helps it plan numbers and tells you which film is next, and screenings run every Saturday until 30 January.

2  RAK trail run and mountain bike race on Sunday, Dh100 an entry

Super Sports Events holds a trail run over 5km, 10km or 15km and a mountain bike race over 10km, 20km or 40km in the Wadi Naqab foothills of the Hajar Mountains in Ras Al Khaimah this Sunday, 4 October. Entry is Dh100 per race through Premier Online, check-in runs from 5.30am to 6.25am, and the first start goes at 6.30am. The organisers say not to count on entering on the day, so register before you set the alarm.

3  Beach yoga is back at Kite Beach on Sunday mornings

Sole Mio's beach yoga sessions return to Kite Beach this October, every Sunday from 8.30am to 9.30am by the water. The class is free for Sole Mio customers and Dh60 for everyone else, and that fee pays for beach cleaners who remove microplastics from Kite Beach twice a week. Message @solemio_dxb on Instagram before Sunday if you want to check what to bring.

 WHAT IT MEANS

Sunday is the crowded day, so choose one morning

Three things in this issue land on Sunday: the RAK race, the Kite Beach yoga class and NESTT's opening. Race check-in in Ras Al Khaimah closes before the yoga starts in Jumeirah, so you can't do both. I would pick by who is coming: the race and the yoga suit adults, while NESTT is built around children up to eight.

Saturday is lighter. A free evening screening at JLT keeps Sunday morning open for one of the others, and at La Cantine, this week's pick, Friday is still priced as a weekday.

 THE NUMBER

Dh370

SATURDAY YOGA AND BEACH DAY

Banyan Tree Dubai on Bluewaters Island charges Dh370 per person for Saturday's 8.30am vinyasa class, breakfast at Tocha and pool and beach access for the day, according to What's On.

 WEEKEND PICK

Make Friday your beach day at La Cantine

La Cantine Beach at Delano on Bluewaters Island charges Dh250 entry from Monday to Friday, and all of it is redeemable on food and drinks. On Saturday and Sunday entry is Dh300, with half redeemable. There are two pools, one family-friendly and one adults-only, plus a private beach, an outdoor gym and a French-Mediterranean restaurant, so if you can take today off, go today.

Your landlord wants more rent. Dubai's RERA law sets the legal ceiling. Enter your building, get the number, see where you stand, and know exactly whether they can.

The reopenings start next week: Miracle Garden on 8 October, Dubai Safari Park on 12 October and Global Village on the 14th. Further out, Dubai Ride registration is open and free at dubaifitnesschallenge.com, and on 1 November it takes Sheikh Zayed Road car-free for the morning on a 12km route, with a 4km family route in Downtown.
